What Cobb Can Move Is
Cobb Can Move is a top-down pixel-art survival horror game where the rules change between stages. You control a small worker inside a dark underground facility, complete the tasks shown before each level, and try to stay alive after Cobb enters the same corridors. Cobb is the threat, not the character you guide.
The game was created in Construct. Official credits name abho for art, programming, and game design; Vystel and Federico for programming; frost for sound effects and ambience; Jimmy for music and ambience; and Imslandar and giohappy for playtesting. The public release supports HTML5 and Windows, with keyboard and gamepad input.
Each stage combines a generated room layout with a growing list of Cobb rules. The full playthrough shows short early nights becoming longer task runs with darkness, furnace trips, red growths, spider-like hazards, freezing pressure, and eventually more than one Cobb. The difficulty comes from learning what changed while still completing ordinary work inside a map built from narrow routes and one-door chambers.
How Cobb Can Move Works
- Read the rule list before starting a level. It tells you how many Cobb conditions are active, even when the tiny rule names are easier to understand through play than through the menu text.
- Survey the first room before leaving the furnace area. Identify the wide junctions, single-entry pockets, green floor lanes, task objects, and any path you may need to use again after Cobb appears.
- Complete one nearby task route at a time. The local build confirms coal delivery, breaker progress, batteries, rocks, candles, hunger, freezing, conveyors, and furnace systems, but each generated stage distributes those pressures differently.
- Return through known corridors instead of exploring continuously. Once Cobb becomes active, the important question is not only where he is, but whether the room ahead gives you a second exit.
- When a level fails, review the order of branches you visited. Most dangerous situations in the playthrough begin when the player enters a long pocket too late, not when they fail to move quickly enough in an open corridor.
Controls
- Movement: Use the game's directional movement controls to navigate the top-down corridors. The browser build is designed for keyboard play, and the official release also supports gamepads.
- Interact: Press E or Space when the on-screen prompt appears. The first level visibly teaches this action beside an interactable object.
- Gamepad: Gamepad input is officially supported, but exact button labels depend on the connected controller and are shown by the game rather than this page.
- Focus: Click inside the game player before using controls so the browser sends keyboard input to the game canvas.
Items, Tasks, and Hazards
Coal and the furnace
The local build tracks coal delivery and a blast furnace. In the playthrough, the furnace room repeatedly acts as both a task location and a visual anchor for navigating the generated facility.
Breakers and devices
Breaker progress is tracked separately from coal. Treat each switch as a route commitment: know which corridor you will use after activating it.
Rocks
The build contains carried and thrown rock states. Level 4 visibly introduces object handling around rooms that also contain new hazards, so a rock is useful only if collecting it does not close your escape route.
Candles and darkness
Candles exist in the build while several stages reduce visibility to a small circle around the player. Light and familiar landmarks matter because Cobb can enter the visible area with little warning.
Batteries
Battery collection has its own progress counter. Their exact purpose can vary with the active task set, so follow the current level indicators instead of carrying them without a plan.
Hunger and freezing
Both hunger and freezing are named survival systems, with dedicated death states in the build. These pressures make long detours dangerous even before Cobb reaches the player.
Conveyors and green lanes
Conveyor tiles appear in multiple directions. Before stepping onto a green lane, check where it feeds and whether the exit remains usable during pursuit.
Cobb
Cobb is the central roaming threat. His active rules expand over the campaign, his apparent reach becomes more dangerous in tight rooms, and Level 6 visibly allows multiple Cobb bodies in the same run.
Cobb Can Move Full Walkthrough
Stage-by-stage frame review of the 22:42 wadoru PlayGaming full playthrough, cross-checked against the local Construct build systems.
Level 1 0:00-1:28
Objective: Learn the interaction prompt, complete the first compact task cycle, and escape the lower loop after Cobb begins moving.
Strategy: Use E or Space at the first prompted object, then study the short route around the furnace before Cobb arrives. Keep the wider upper corridor as your recovery lane. Once the task state changes, move through the lower section only while Cobb is still far from its single entrance, then return to open space instead of waiting near the green floor area.
Warning: The lower loop looks spacious but has one practical entrance. If Cobb reaches the center first, the extra floor area does not provide another exit.
Level 2 1:28-2:40
Objective: Clear the expanded task route across a taller map while Cobb pressures the central slope and red-growth corridors.
Strategy: Finish the isolated branch early, before Cobb occupies the sloped return route. Use the central furnace area to reset your direction, then take the remaining branch only when the corridor above it is clear. The playthrough succeeds by turning back before Cobb reaches the junction rather than trying to squeeze past him in the narrow passage.
Warning: A long downward corridor gives temporary distance but no safety if Cobb controls the only slope back to the task area.
Level 3 2:40-4:43
Objective: Complete a larger rule set across separated dark chambers without losing the route back to the furnace corridor.
Strategy: Treat the furnace as the map origin. Search one branch, return to known light, then start the next branch from a recognized junction. When the screen closes down to the player's immediate light radius, retrace the path you already used instead of continuing into another unknown room. This reduces the chance of meeting Cobb on a staircase where reversing takes too long.
Warning: Darkness hides both Cobb and the shape of the next junction. Exploring two unfamiliar branches in one trip makes a safe retreat much harder.
Level 4 4:43-7:46
Objective: Carry or throw newly visible objects while continuing furnace tasks around spider-like hazards and deeper side rooms.
Strategy: Collect the nearby object before descending into the lower maze, and keep the long upper corridor available as a recovery route. Approach rooms containing spider-like creatures from the edge, confirm that the path behind you remains open, and leave after the required interaction instead of searching every adjacent pocket during the same trip.
Warning: A carried object can tempt you into finishing the whole branch at once. Cobb and the additional creatures can turn that efficient-looking route into a one-way commitment.
Level 5 7:46-13:32
Objective: Complete five active conditions during a longer night that visibly includes freezing pressure and repeated furnace returns.
Strategy: Break the stage into short expeditions from the furnace area. Clear the nearest objective, return before the cold becomes critical, then choose the next branch based on Cobb's current position. Reserve the smallest dark rooms for moments when Cobb is known to be elsewhere, because his larger apparent reach leaves little space to pass him once he enters the doorway.
Warning: Avoiding Cobb with a long detour can still end the run through freezing. Route length and chase risk must be managed together.
Level 6 13:32-19:35
Objective: Survive the longest standard stage while completing a five-line rule set that visibly includes DUPLICATE x2.
Strategy: Finish nearby tasks first and use wide furnace corridors to change direction. Before crossing a major junction, account for both visible Cobb threats; a loop that escapes one body may lead toward the other. Move through one-door chambers only after checking the return route, and use the familiar furnace path to reorganize when darkness or spiders make the outer branches difficult to read.
Warning: Seeing one Cobb move away is not enough. The duplicate can already be approaching from the corridor you planned to use as an exit.
Final Level 19:35-21:21
Objective: Activate the devices arranged around the large central furnace and trigger the ending while Cobb patrols the arena.
Strategy: Circle the perimeter and work on a device when Cobb is on the opposite side of the furnace. After each activation, leave the corner immediately and continue around the outside rather than crossing directly in front of him. Repeat the pattern until the furnace sequence begins, then keep moving while the arena transitions into the ending.
Warning: The four device corners are easy to identify but poor places to wait. Cobb can pin the player against the outer wall after an interaction.

Common Beginner Mistakes
- Do not confuse distance with safety. A long branch can buy time, but it becomes a trap when it has only one return path.
- Do not start a remote task without knowing the route back to the furnace or central junction. Later nights add environmental pressure even when Cobb is off screen.
- Do not wait beside an objective after interacting with it. Leave the corner or switch area immediately, because Cobb often reaches the same narrow space before the task animation feels finished.
- Do not assume the previous level taught every Cobb behavior. The opening rule list changes, Level 5 visibly adds freezing pressure, and Level 6 includes duplication.
- Do not enter darkness from an unfamiliar direction during a chase. Follow a route you already mapped until the screen opens into a recognizable room.
Browser Notes
The embedded version is a Construct HTML5 build. It loads inside the page after you press the large Play button, so the initial page can render without immediately downloading the full game runtime.
Keyboard input requires the game canvas to have focus. Click inside the player before moving or interacting. The opening footage confirms E or Space for interaction, while the official release lists both keyboard and gamepad support.
Keep sound enabled when possible. The local asset set includes breaker alarms, furnace buildup, footsteps, chase audio, and multiple death cues that help communicate pressure outside the small visible area.
The game was designed around keyboard or gamepad input. This page does not claim touch controls, and a phone-sized screen makes the already dark rooms harder to read even when the browser can load the canvas.
If input stops after clicking outside the player, click the game again. Refreshing the page restarts the embedded session unless the build itself restores progress; do not rely on the surrounding site as a save system.
